Analysis Of Malcolm X s Life And Autobiography Essay
Human beings are not as perfect as weââ¬â¢d like to believe. We are constrained by our abilities, actions, knowledge, and death to live a life that can never reach its full potential. This concept of finitude plays a significant role in Malcolm Xââ¬â¢s life and autobiography. X becomes aware of this aspect of the human condition at a very early age and it seems that he acts with this idea almost always in the back of his mind. Malcolm X does not live a conservative or docile life. He is determined to live his life to the fullest and by the end of the book, his only goal is to spread his thoughts and ideas as much as he can before his time on this Earth is up. We are first acquainted with finitude on the mere second page of this book. While we as humans like to believe that we will live long and prosperous lives, Malcolm X seems to understand the true nature of our existence before he is even able to go to grade school. With constant threats from the KKK and several violent deaths of African Americans in the community, it was near impossible for him to live as deluded as several of other did. His father had also accepted the finite features of our existence and began to risk his life and dedicate himself to civil rights. X realizes that he was likely to follow in his fatherââ¬â¢s steps by stating ââ¬Å"It has always been my belief that I, too, will die by violence.
